The sun glared down at me as Granice, a dark blue dragoness, dragged me by my paw down the street. "Seriously Granice... why do we have to go to the park today?" I whinned and she looked back at me with a smile prominent on her muzzle.
My heart melted instantly when she looked at me like that. Her eyes held that wonderful sparkle, her teeth gleamed, and the love that radiated from her was more than magical. "Its for a special occasion Drackon... trust me you are going to like it."
"Fine... what is this surprise though? You have me on edge... STEAKHOUSE NIGHT!?!" I exclaimed, my stomach grumbled his agreement with me.
Unfortunately Granice shook her head and replied, "Its even better... life changing moment ahead, so be happy."
I nodded to show I understood and put a forced grin on my face. Suddenly we stopped by an icecream shop and Granice looked at me. "Can we get something to eat... I am starving." She put a paw to her stomach and held it there.
Shrugging I pulled out my wallet from my pocket and smiled at the man running the outside counter. The man looked at me and sighed, "Great another dragon... and this one brought a friend, can I help you with anything?" He held a snotty air around him as he said this.
My temper shot up and I glared at the cashier. A gentle pat on my shoulder from Granice instantly returned my cool. "Yeah... Granice get whatever you want okay?"
She smiled at me and proceeded to order, "I will have a large chocolate milkshake... two triple pounders, one large thing of fries... with cheese, and a corndog."
Both, the cashier and I stared at Granice in pure shock. Here was little, skinny Granice, ordering like she was eating for two. Quickly I resumed acting like nothing was wrong and I ordered a plain burger.
When we got our food I paid and we began walking to the park. I tried to ignore Granice as she hungrily dug into her food. In minutes her two, three pound burgers were gone and nest were he cheesy fries. As she ate her corndog, I worried about her.
She normally didn't eat this much... and we just ate an hour ago. After Granice had sucked down her shake, she saw that I had a concerned look on my muzzle. Quietly she clear her throat and asked, "Drackon... is something wrong, why are you acting funny?"
"Nothing... just... do you feel fine? No offense but you seem to be eating a lot more than usual and are having some weird cravings." I turned my head away so she wouldn't get hurt by what I said.
Laughing came beside me and I looked, surprised, to see Granice giggling. We had reached the park and Granice led me to our favorite spot beside a tree with a perfect view of the sunset. "Drackon you are really silly," she sat down and I did the same.
I opened my arms and she crawled into them. Whilst wrapping my arms around her, I laid down to watch the sunset. She snuggled into me and sighed happily, "I love you... and what I am about to tell you will bring us even closer."
A warm breeze blew and the sweet scent of the grass wafted around with it. I held Granice tight and replied, "Then I am ready for whatever you have to say."
There was a long pause and for a second I thought Granice was breaking up with me. "Drackon... I-I..." She looked at me with pleading eyes and finally got it out, "You are going to be a dad... I am pregnant."
